Terms and Conditions

Information and instructions on how to participate in the Philanthropy New Zealand Awards 2017 (“the Awards”) form part of these Terms and Conditions. If you enter the Awards you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Nominations for the Philanthropy Awards 2017 is free and open for all Philanthropy New Zealand Members to submit a nomination
  2. Nominees must be New Zealand citizens and at least 15 years or older.
  3. People currently residing outside of New Zealand temporarily due to work or study commitments are still eligible to enter.
  4. The Awards Committee will consider the nomination based on the specific award criteria and the information provided.
  5. The 2017 Awards’ categories are as follows:
  1. Entry for the Awards opens on Friday, March 3 2017 and will close on Friday, March 31 at 5.00pm NZST. Absolutely NO late submissions will be accepted.
  2. The finalists will be announced in March following the completion of the judging.
  3. All awards will be reviewed and assessed by an Awards Committee, appointed by Philanthropy New Zealand.
  4. Names of nominees when being assessed will be hidden to allow for anonymous judging.
  5. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into in relation to their decision.
  6. The judges reserve the right not to allocate an Award in a particular category.
  7. Philanthropy New Zealand and the judges reserve the right to decline a submission or to disqualify a participant at their absolute discretion.
  8. By entering the Awards, each participant acknowledges that their submission is true, accurate, complete and original work, that any intellectual property rights arising in connection with that entry rest with the participant and that the submission does not interfere with any third-party rights.
  9. Those selected as finalists should be available to attend the AMP Capital Cocktail Party & Awards Presentation in Wellington, Thursday, 11th May 2017 (inability to attend does not disqualify entry).
  10. Unsuccessful nominees may re-nominate in subsequent years.
  11. Philanthropy New Zealand, its employees, agents and the Awards’ judges do not accept any liability, however arising, including liability for negligence, for any accident, loss, injury or damage arising at any time out of, or in connection with, the Awards, except for any liability that cannot, by law, be excluded.
  12. Philanthropy New Zealand reserves the right to alter any dates associated with the Awards; including the dates within which participants can enter the Awards, the proposed date for the announcement of the Awards’ finalists and the proposed date for the announcement of the Awards’ winners.
  13. Award finalists will be entitled to use the Philanthropy New Zealand Awards 2017 logo on their website, literature and marketing materials for 12 months from the date of the Awards ceremony.
  14. Philanthropy New Zealand reserves the right to place photos and/or video taken at the AMP Capital Cocktail Party & Awards Presentation on Philanthropy New Zealand marketing channels, and for any media coverage of the Awards, the Awards ceremony, finalists and winners.
  15. Nominees will be encouraged to make themselves available without cost for publicity purposes as required prior to and after the AMP Capital Cocktail Party & Awards Presentation.
  16. Philanthropy New Zealand reserves the right to alter these Terms and Conditions at any point. Participants in the awards will be notified of any such amendments prior to the closing date.
  17. By submitting this nomination you confirm that you have the permission of the nominee and you both agree to allow the use of their nomination information for publicity purposes.
