CE fortnightly message

Kia ora koutou,

Amidst the recent challenges faced by Hawke's Bay due to the flooding, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the remarkable efforts of all our members over there including Eastern & Central Community Trust, Wairoa District Council, Hawke's Bay Regional Council and others. Also to Taskforce Kiwi - with their tasks in flood-affected Wairoa, tirelessly delivering firewood, clearing flood damaged furniture, and aiding in vehicle recoveries, demonstrating true community spirit and resilience.

Please find photos showcasing Taskforce Kiwi's efforts below, photo credit goes to Heather Milne.

Looking ahead, I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet Waikato-based funders on July 25th and 26th. This upcoming meeting holds great promise for deepening our partnerships and discussing strategies to further support our communities together. If you haven't received an invitation and want to catch up, drop me a note.

As we approach Wills Week, happening from July 15th to 21st, I urge you all to consider the profound impact of leaving a charitable gift in your will. Whether it’s the community cause you support, the animal shelter you love, or another charity close to your heart, your contribution can leave a lasting legacy. I'll be speaking at our upcoming free Wills Week webinar partnered with Public Trust on Thursday 18th of July. This event is a fantastic opportunity to explore the importance of keeping your will up-to-date and to hear inspiring stories of legacy giving Join me and register for the webinar today to secure your spot. Learn more about Wills Week and our partnership with Public Trust here.

Look forward to doing more in this space in September during Wills Month.

Lastly, if you are still considering attending the Philanthropy Australia conference in August get in touch as we have generously been offered a special rate for members. Please message me by the end of the week if you're interested in joining.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Rahul Watson Govindan
